"Is there anything better than the music and theatre of a pack of hounds exploding from covert across country and that daunting excitement, coupled with the feel of an honest, brave campaigner bowling you into your fences? Or the smell of a freshly harvested corn field on a damp, clear, early Autumn morning with the spontaneity and anticipation of what the coming few hours might bring? Or the pent up excitement of the first draw from the Opening Meet? To capture the atmosphere of a quiet stable scene at home after a blistering day, that wonderful bond between man and horse, born from personal experience, which tells so many tales; the bond between huntsman and hound; it is my constant challenge to inspire you all and reproduce all those feelings through my collection of paintings and I hope this website will do just that.
It is my great belief that life is to be lived. It is no good getting to ninety and wishing you had got more days in before Christmas, or taken up polo when you were thirty. You have to "go at it or go home", therefore my work will always reflect my life and those around me, I am constantly drawing upon experience, yet the humbling privilege of being among horse and hound will always be at the backbone & foundation of what I do.

I have of course been influenced by the works of Snaffles, Lionel Edwards and Sir Alfred Munnings and have enormous respect for these great artists. I particularly like Snaffles depiction of instance, I am constantly impressed by Edwards' technical ability and observation coupled with a sportsmanĖs knowledge, and Munnings just makes everything look so easy with his confident brushwork. However, there is a great new breed of contemporary sporting artists out there, we are all so different and we all have our place, it delights me that we are still painting sporting subjects despite hunting as we know currently enduring a temporary ban in the UK.
The Gallery at home is open by appointment only, you will be ensured a warm welcome. Alternatively come and see my work at Badminton, Bramham, Burghley and the CLA Game Fair."
